I do not care for the SnapOn MTTL7006 backprobes. I picked up a set thinking that they would become my go-to for back-pinning connectors, which we do quite frequently at my shop. The thought of having a very small insertion probe to get into tightly packed weather resistant connectors is nice, but impractically applied in this situation.
The diameter of the conductor tips is actually a disadvantage in the case of these probes, as any resistance you may encounter inserting the probes is likely to cause them to buckle and bend. The probes have little to no strength, and are very difficult to straighten back out. The other problem is that the exposed portion of the probe is very short, not lending itself well to the back-pinning of most connectors. The insulation nearest to the tip will collapse somewhat to give you extra insertion depth, but this also gives the feeling that the probe will push itself back out from the pressure of the collapsed insulation.
Overall, I would not recommend wasting the twenty dollars on these tips unless you absolutely have to have something this small and plan on being exceedingly careful in your use of the product.

You should check out the back pin probes from AESwave.com. I have a set and they work well. Hook up to your scope leads or multimeter. The other great thing about these are that they are field repairable. Here is the link. http://www.aeswave.com/AES-Electronics-Accupuncture-Probes-p8560.html
I have a set of the AES ones that came with my Picoscope and I do like them. I have found myself liking the flexible ones from Electronic Specialties better though.
